The Huntington Cultural Council is the town-level Local Cultural Council (LCC) that administers grants provided by the state-level Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). Both groups work to support the arts by providing funding to individuals and organizations. The LCC operates on an annual review/approval cycle. The deadline for applications every year is around October 15, with applications available beginning around September 1.
In considering applications, the Huntington Cultural Council gives priority to the following:
- Projects benefitting Huntington and the Hilltown area
- Applications submitted by local residents or organizations
- Projects that have a secured venue and date
In addition, applications are evaluated on the following criteria:
- How well the program meets our local priorities
- Community support and involvement
- Evidence of track record
- Demonstrated planning
